A closed garage door doesn't always mean it's secure. Our Auto-Lock system is designed to prevent break-ins by automatically securing the door with a heavy-duty bolt when it receives a command from the remote control. This eliminates the need for a physical key.
Types of garage doors
All of our B&D garage doors are Australian-made and available in two types: roller doors and sectional doors.
-
Roller garage doors
Perfect for garages, laneways, and sheds, roller garage doors are designed to roll upwards into a tight coil at the top of the door opening. This design is great for conserving overhead space in the garage.
These doors are available both with and without an automatic opener. They come equipped with a robust lock to secure against unauthorised entry. Additionally, they can be built to withstand high winds, which makes them a reliable option in areas prone to cyclones.
-
Sectional garage doors
Sectional garage doors consist of multiple interconnected panels, forming a unified, solid-looking door. These doors are customisable to any garage opening, regardless of its size and shape. Differing from roller doors, sectional doors move along metal tracks attached to the garage ceiling when they open or close. Available in various styles and colours, they are a favourite for residential properties, offering a sleek appearance, durability, and practicality.
Manual lifting and unlocking of garage doors are things of the past. Sectional garage doors are usually bought with an automated opener, enhancing security. Since many garage doors don’t come with locks, B&D’s automatic locking systemeliminates the need for traditional locks, ensuring access is restricted to those with the remote control.
-
Tilt doors
Tilt doors are less common in the market due to their safety and security concerns, which is why B&D does not produce or install them. These doors have exposed springs on each side and are made from a single, heavy piece, unlike doors with hinged panels. This heaviness can strain the springs and balancing mechanisms during operation. Worn-out springs can unexpectedly snap, leading to the door crashing down, posing a risk to people, children, pets, and vehicles.

Automatic Reverse and Backdrive
Our garage doors are equipped with an Automatic Reverse mechanism integrated into the motor. This system detects resistance or blockages, preventing the door from closing on obstacles like people or belongings. The Automatic Backdrive activates to reverse the motor’s direction if there’s an attempt to force the door open from the outside.
-
Infrared motion detection
Beyond the auto-reverse feature, we offer wireless safety beams for added protection. These beams, placed near the bottom of the garage door, detect any object in the door's closing path. The door won't close while an obstruction is detected, and the system will automatically reverse the door if the beam is interrupted, reducing accidents and injuries.
-
Smart phone operation
Control and monitor your garage door through a smartphone or tablet. Our B&D Smart Phone app connects with several devices simultaneously, alerting you if the door is left open, activated, or blocked.
-
Warranty
The warranty of a garage door is essential for long-term performance and durability. B&D garage doors and openers are designed and tested to operate together seamlessly. We offer a leading 10-year Total Confidence Warranty*, guaranteeing optimal functioning and reliability of our products.
*Terms and conditions apply.
Choosing a garage door style
Garage doors are available in a wide range of materials, designs, colours, and finishes, from luxurious designer doors to classic choices. They make up approximately 60% of a house's exterior appearance, holding a similar visual importance as the main entrance, windows, or the external siding. Selecting a high-quality garage door is vital.
Our COLORBOND garage doors are designed to harmonise flawlessly with both your current and future colour palettes and other steel elements of your house. Alternatively, our Knotwood option offers a premium woodgrain finish, emulating the look and feel of real timber, for a more organic and rustic appeal.
