One of Australia’s top professional renovators will be divulging some of the secrets of increased street appeal when she appears at The Block Live 2012 in Sydney this weekend (June 22-24).
Renovating guru Cherie Barber will be presenting on behalf of B&D Garage Doors and Openers at The Block Live 2012 home renovation show, being held at the Sydney Showgrounds at Olympic Park.
Cherie will discuss how to renovate a home frontage to maximise its visual appeal and increase the sale value of the property.
“When it comes to the street frontage little things can make a big difference,” said Cherie.
“For example, simply repainting paving or replacing the front door could be the difference between potential buyers stopping to look inside or not stopping at all.”
Cherie also advises paying attention to the garage door, which in some suburban homes occupies a large proportion of the street frontage.
“In some cases the garage door can take up to half of the house facade, and therefore it has a big effect on the overall look of the property – so it pays to have a nice-looking one.”
Visitors to the B&D seminars will have the opportunity to receive free renovating tips which Cherie normally reserves for paying customers at her renovating workshops.
“There’s a formula I use for determining how much money you should spend on a cosmetic renovation of your home, and what proportion of that renovation budget should be spent on the street frontage,” said Cherie. “But you’ll have to come to the B&D seminars to find out!”
B&D’s national marketing manager Stacey-lee Smith says show-goers can use The Block Live 2012 to increase their knowledge of renovating solutions.
“B&D will have three stands at The Block Live – one introducing our new Enviropanel insulated garage door, another focusing primarily on openers and automating garage doors, and the main stand which covers off all things garage doors,” said Stacey-lee.
“All of the stands will be manned by B&D staff who can provide information and advice, and we’ll also be handing out show bags containing lots of goodies.”
Cherie Barber will present her renovating tips at The Block Live 2012 Outdoor Arena on behalf of B&D Doors & Openers this Friday (June 22) at 4pm and again on Saturday at 11.30am.
The Block Live 2012 will run Friday to Sunday at Sydney Showground, Sydney Olympic Park. Details of opening times, exhibits and attractions are available at theblocklive.com.au.
