About

Emergency key release kit used to disengage a sectional door opener so that it can be lifted manually in case of a power failure.  Suitable where the garage door is the only access to the garage.

How It Works

The keyplate is usually mounted towards the top of the door, just above eye level.  The rope is then taken through the hole and attached to the barrel of the keylock at one end and attached to the disengagement handle of the sectional door opener.  When the door needs to be opened manually, you simply turn the key, which releases the barrel, pull out the barrel which pulls on the rope to disengage the opener, thereby allowing you to manually open your garage door.

  • Can be fitted to both sectional and tilting garage doors.
